Merco have ongoing requirements for experienced A&E STR1-3 Emergency Medicine Doctors in a number of hospitals in Wales and the West Country.

Weekday & weekend bookings
Choose from days or nights
Ad-hoc and regular bookings
Pay is up from £58.50 to £70 per hour (Gross)
Bookings available 3 months in advanceYou will be paid well and you will be paid promptly, every week.  Our experienced registrations team will process your application quickly so you are able to start working as soon as possible.   
Role overview
Provision of primary medical care to patients suffering recent injuries and acute medical and surgical conditions of sudden onset, occurring in circumstances where it is not practical to seek the assistance of their General Practitioner.
Provision of primary care to patients taken ill whilst in transit through the areas and with no ability to see a primary care practitioner.

Assist consultant staff in maintaining staffing levels including covering short term sickness
Timely review of patient’s results and investigations when returned to the department
Close liaison with nursing staff to ensure patient care is maintained and all trust policies and procedures are adhered to.
Pre-hospital treatment of trauma victims and those suffering from acute illness when requested by relevant agencies including North West Ambulance Service.
Treatment of patients referred to the departments by General Practitioners usually excluding those referred directly to the medical, surgical or other specialist departments.
To be aware of the contents of the Trust Major Incident Plan and be able to carry out the relevant roles as determined by the Plan.
Provision of advice to members of the general public who contact the department by telephone or in person.
To take an active role in the teaching of junior doctors and be involved in the training of all Emergency staff as well as ambulance personnel.
Liaison with Social Service Departments, Ambulance, Police, Education and other departments of the local authority and health services when required for the treatment of patients.
Preparation of such correspondence, reports and other documents as may be necessary during the performance of the above duties.
Other duties which may be allocated by senior staff to ensure the proper care of patients and management of the departments.
