Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting an Addiction Speciality Doctor/GP to work within a new fully integrated adult Substance Misuse Recovery Service in Herefordshire. Contract: The client is offering a permanent opportunity working on either a full or part time basis with a negotiable salary depending on experience. Daily Duties: The successful applicant will be responsible for delivery of local prescribing clinics delivered across our community service. Leading the provision of a patient-centred, evidence-based, accessible and culturally sensitive specialist General Practice to our service uses. You will treat the most complex patients in the service, and will: Provide expert advice to other clinicians on diagnosis, assessment and care planning, for example on complex drug interactions, comorbid drug-related physical and mental health issues, and integration of psychosocial and medical treatment. Accept referrals of people with the most severe or complex needs Provide expert oversight of provision of psychosocial support, based on comprehensive knowledge of research evidence. Lead introduction of innovative interventions to improve outcomes and quality of provision. Undertake complex prescribing, for example injectable opioid substitution treatments if necessary. Provide liaison drug and alcohol services in acute medical and psychiatric settings and expert advice to courts. Provide expert advice to accountable officers and responsible officers. Person Specification: The successful candidate will need to be accredited as 'specialist' in substance use treatment, and should either: 1. Be listed on the GMC's Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with an endorsement in substance misuse psychiatry, with the supervision and CPD requirements this entails; 2. Have training, experience and supervision equivalent to this, as certified by the GMC through an appropriate Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR); 3. Be listed on the GMC's GP Register and have appropriate training, qualifications and experience.
