Our client has some of the most prestigious private hospitals based in the UK. Their award winning facilities specialise in all areas of patient care from routine procedures to most challenging and complex cases. Certain areas they would excel in would include: Cardiology, Paediatric, Neurology, Stroke and Brain Injury, Orthopaedics and Oncology.
We are currently looking to recruit and Advanced Nurse Practitioner-Haematology to join one of their facilities based in Central Manchester. This facility is a state of the art cancer centre treating almost all types of cancer patients. The Haematology unit in particular boasts a team of nurses with a wealth of knowledge in Haematology, Stem Cell Transplant and Bone Marrow Transplant along with some of the best consultants in the field.
Working alongside the consultants as the advanced nurse practitioner for the unit you will be responsible for Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant patients. You will be involved with the patient from initial history, clinical assessment right through to treatment and evaluation of care. With your extensive knowledge in the field you will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. Part of your day to day will involve prescribing and reviewing medications for therapeutic effectiveness through evidence based practice, supporting patients in the adoption of healthy lifestyles through education and additional support in managing and living with their illness. You will also be required to undertake a daily ward round with a member of the nursing staff or Lead Consultant. Part of your role will also require getting involved in clinical governance, audits, managing incidents/complaints and working to ensure effective service delivery. You will also be required to act as a mentor to junior members of staff and assess their competence.
To be considered for this role you will have at extensive experience of working in haematology/oncology nursing. You will have a Msc in Advanced Practice and a relevant haematology qualification along with being competent in bone marrow aspiration. As part of your role will involve training junior member of staff you will be required to have a mentorship qualification. You will be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Working in a senior level role alongside senior management you will have excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail and the ability to use your own initiative.
