Job Description

There has never been a more exciting time to join us. Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (T&G IC) will provide the foundation for one of the first ICOs in England, bringing together a wide range of health and social care services for the benefit of local people. The ICO will manage a person’s entire care in the future, by linking up hospital services with community care and mental health services as well as working closely with GPs.

We expect that, to fully transform these services, will take between three and five years. This is a unique opportunity for Tameside and Glossop to be at the forefront of developing more joined-up integrated care; and we are absolutely committed to getting it right. To get it right, we need the right, highly skilled patient focused workforce throughout the whole process.

We have an opportunity for a dynamic, progressive Radiographer with considerable experience in Plain Film imaging as well as masters level qualifications in MSK, GP and Chest/Abdomen Reporting and a commitment to driving quality and service improvement. Commitment to educational leadership is essential and the post holder will be expected to lead on provision of CPD for the wider team and specialist interest meetings.

It is desirable that the candidate have some experience in clinical leadership and willingness to assist the lead for plain film advanced practice and the Clinical lead Radiographer in the day to day management of the plain film service.

Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation provides care for around 250,000 residents and has recently been rated GOOD following the latest CQC inspection. This was following a sustained improvement programme, which the Trust are committed to maintaining.

We have a Consultant Sonographer

We have Advanced/Specialist Practice in all modalities -

Plain Film, CT and MR reporting,
Radiographer led Fluoroscopy service including HSGs, Video/Barium studies and proctography. We are looking to develop Radiographer led arthrograms
Mammography including Radiographer led ultrasound and biopsies
Reporting in Nuclear Medicine
Radiographer led Nuclear Medicine myocardial perfusion scanning
We offer a well-structured preceptorship/support programme for all newly appointed radiographers, whatever their previous experience.

We have a robust CPD schedule including special interest groups, modality specific meetings and a quarterly directorate audit meeting.

We have a well established reputation as a warm, welcoming department with a strong team ethic.

Tameside Hospital is in Ashton-u-Lyne which has great motorway and train links, to Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool with fantastic retail and social activities.

There is also beautiful countryside on the doorstep. The Peak District National Park, Derbyshire Dales, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District are all easily accessible.
