We are currently looking to recruit Anesthetic Practitioners to our rapidly growing Sharoe Green theatres. We have vacancies for Operating Department Practitioners or nurses to join our operating theatres at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals based in the Sharoe Green theatres at Royal Preston Hospital.

As an ODP/Nurse working at our trust you will be based in our Gynaecology & Obstetric Theatres working as part of a 24hr unit participating in twilights, weekends and night duty. They will also have the opportunity to work across Main theatres, Day Case theatres and Chorley theatres.

We have a large theatre directorate consisting of 3 theatres within Gynae theatres, 15 theatres based within the main theatre, 4 theatres within day case and 8 theatres based at Chorley theatres. Our services are continuously evolving and this creates exciting opportunities for development.

The specialities across all areas comprises of Gynaecology, Gynae Oncology, Obstetrics (elective and emergency), DaVinci robot for Gynaecology/Oncology and Urology. Colorectal, General surgery, Urology, ENT & Max Fax, Plastics, Vascular, Orthopaedic trauma, Neurosurgery, Emergency, Oncoplastic Breast, cold Orthopaedics, Ophthalmic, , Upper GI, Neuro-intervention. We also do amazing work with the Upper GI and Colorectal. We are currently in the process of expanding our Ophthalmic service which will see Ophthalmic theatres working in a brand new purpose built unit comprising of everything under one roof for our dedicated Ophthalmology service.

We are looking experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Anaesthetic Theatre Practitioners who are looking to seek out a new challenge. You will be professional, flexible, motivated and committed to delivering high quality patient focused care within our busy theatre departments.

If you are successful in obtaining a position with our Trust which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check. As a registered body with the DBS, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will conduct the administration of this application on your behalf and the cost will be recovered from your salary, either as a one-off payment or over 3 months. Currently the charges made by the Disclosure and Barring Service are - Standard DBS check £30.20 and Enhanced DBS check £48.20. The level of check required depends on the role that you have been offered.
