We are looking for an anaesthetic practitioner to assist the Theatre Manager and Theatre team in the development and provision of anaesthetic services offered by the Operating Department.

you will be responsible for the preparation of anaesthetic equipment prior to commencement of lists in order to provide skilled assistance to the Anaesthetist and care for the patient during induction, maintenance and reversal of anaesthesia. you must also be able to prepare additional equipment required by the surgical team (e.g. urology camera system, insufflators and imaging equipment etc) and have experience in the preparation and disposal of anaesthetic drugs.

Your role will include the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. You must also be prepared to undertake the supervision of junior and support staff. You may also be asked to take charge of the clinical areas in the absence of coordinators.

To successfully undertake his opportunity, you must have a minimum 2 years post NMC/HCPC registration experience within a operating department. You must have also passed a recognised theatre course (e.g. ENB 176/182/183) and be able to demonstrate evidence of ongoing professional development.

In addition, you must be able to demonstrate competencies in adult and paediatric recovery.

You must also be able to manage your own workload and work as part of a integrated team (including the ability to provide training, advice and support for junior staff within the department.
