Do you have an animal related scientific qualification and experience of working with animals? If so our Animal Support Technician role is for you. The focus of this role is the conduct of husbandry procedures for all laboratory species on site, e.g. feeding, watering, bedding and cage changing. Other duties include routine cleaning of the animal rooms and equipment, and assisting experienced Animal Technologists with technical procedures. The Support Technician, depending upon ability, may also be trained in many other tasks.
The role has clear progression routes where you can be trained to perform more technical procedures, as well as supporting you in gaining the Institute of Animal Technology IAT qualifications.
The role will require you to be flexible in working hours and will involve working on alternate weekends. We are looking for candidates who are genuinely committed to working with animals. The work can be physical and because of our flexible working we do seek people who can get into work with their own transport.
As a Silver Investors in People organisation and having won a Commitment to Training award, we are confident that we can offer you genuine career progression and the rewards that come with it
