Band 5 PA / Medical Secretary - Fixed Term 3 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Imperial Private Healthcare as a PA/Medical Secretary.

The role of the PA is to provide a secretarial and administrative service to consultant medical staff as requested and is vital in ensuring the effective operation of administrative functions in support of the outpatient and inpatient service for Imperial Private Healthcare. 

You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic with previous experience in a medical secretary role utilising excellent organisational and administrative skills. You must be able to prioritise constantly changing workloads and be able to act on your own initiative.

This position will liaise closely with consultant medical staff, Private Healthcare managers, business office staff and nursing staff, health insurers, referring doctors, embassies, other external providers of Healthcare and patients.

You will be the first point of contact for patients and their carers for complex queries, either managing them directly or acting as a liaison between the patient/carer and the medical staff.

You will establish, maintain and monitor excellent office and information systems as well as ensure quality and customer care standards are met where relevant. You will also help develop private practice through excellence of service and produce relevant patient information or marketing literature.

You will be liaising with the wider team to organise outpatient clinics and inpatient admissions for the consultants.  

As a key contact for stakeholders, patients and staff you must have exemplary communication skills to ensure that a positive impression of the Trust is maintained at all times. You will work with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, sensitivity, tact and diplomacy, respecting confidentiality of information.

Previous secretarial experience within a healthcare setting is essential. You will also have a detailed working knowledge of MS Office applications including email and excel spreadsheets.
