7 North ward is a 24 bedded acute surgical ward specialising in urology and General surgery, with patients stepping down from the intensive care unit and theatres. 7 North is a fast paced ward looking after acutely ill adult surgical patients’ pre and post-surgery.  This role will also give you the opportunity to enhance your nursing skills by caring for patients with acute urological and colorectal conditions, patients on cancer pathways and post step-down from ITU.

This acute surgical ward provides high standards of care for patients who have undergone complex urological surgery such as Cystectomies and Nephrectomies for cancers and general surgical procedures such as Laparotomies and Bowel resections.

We are committed to the professional development of our band 5’s which includes enhancing their leadership and developing their nurse in charge skills. As a band 5 nurse you will be well supported by our experience nurses, including Clinical Nurse Specialists for urology, the Enhanced Recovery Practitioner and our Clinical Practice Educator.

We welcome applications from registered nurses from all backgrounds both experienced and newly qualified. We aim to offer all successful candidates assistance in developing specialist knowledge in urology and general surgery for all newly qualified nurses. This role would be ideal for nurses who are looking to enhance their skills in the field of critical outreach and specialised surgical nursing.
