Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist - Band 6 Full time, 37.5 per week Rotational (MSK/Rheumatology/Othopaedics) Are you a physiotherapist keen to work in a large teaching hospital? Are you committed to the provision of evidence informed practice and the development of motivated junior staff? Do you want to work in an environment with class facilities and a focus on manual and exercise therapy; education of undergraduate and postgraduate students; research and clinical audit?

An opportunity has arisen for a musculoskeletal specialist to join the Therapies team within Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals. The post holder will be a qualified Physiotherapist, with at least 2 years’ experience within the physiotherapy specialty. You should have completed at least two specialist musculoskeletal rotations, which would ideally include an Orthopaedic inpatient rotation. You should have excellent baseline knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy principles and have experience of treating a variety of peripheral and spinal patients. Evidence of involvement in project management and audit will be desirable.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in many projects within the MSK and Orthopeadic services.

You will contribute to the further development of the service in addition to undertaking a busy, variable caseload in an outpatient setting which accepts referrals from both Consultants and GP’s, including hydrotherapy and Community Clinics.

The Inpatient cover will provide the opportunity to work with both elective and trauma caseloads.

One rotation is split with early supported discharge of NWB orthopaedic patients and outpatients.

There will be a supervisory responsibility for a Band 5 physiotherapist and students, providing appraisals, teaching and clinical support with managing demanding caseloads. You will also have roles linked to the Band 7 line managers that will facilitate your managerial and leadership qualities. We have an excellent in-service training program. The MSK Therapies team also has a strong Band 8 strategic and clinical leadership team, who support the MSK physiotherapy team to deliver the best possible patient care.

This is an excellent time to join our motivated and forward thinking department. Our aim is to provide excellent clinical care for our diverse patient group, within an NHS environment, and develop dynamic clinicians who bring innovation to our ever expanding service.

You will also be expected to work 1 weekend in 5 as part of our MSK/Orthopaedic weekend working service but not respiratory on call
