An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (Hampstead site). The rotations occur across the specialty areas of Neurology, Stroke, Critical Care, Health Services for Elderly People, and Neurorehabilitation (including community). Given the fixed term nature of this role it is likely the post holder will be largely based on the acute stroke and neurology unit.
The post holder will:
• Be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adult patients in acute and rehabilitation services within the Royal Free Hospital.
• Participate in videofluoroscopy clinics
• Participate in teaching for SLT students and other professionals.
• Contribute to research and audit
You will be joining a team of 10 other SLT’s and you will be based within the different interdisciplinary teams during each rotation. You will be well supported with opportunities for peer support and access to joint working with clinical leads in each area and you will be offered opportunities for personal and professional development. The Speech and Language Therapy team run both videofluoroscopy and FEES services which you will have an opportunity to participate in.
The Royal Free has excellent clinical outcomes and the therapies team has a strong commitment to interdisciplinary, evidence based practise and the hospital has a Regional Neurosciences Unit providing a tertiary referral service to hospitals in North London and the Home Counties.
