This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading neuromuscular centre in the United Kingdom.
Neuromuscular team are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Senior Staff nurse to work on the neuromuscular Complex Care centre (NMCCC).
The Neuromuscular Complex Care Centre is the first dedicated centre in the United Kingdom and this six bedded unit offers assessment with short stay admissions for patients suffering from a variety of neuromuscular and neuro-metabolic disorders. These patients have highly complex medical and nursing needs and are a growing population of patients who require assessment for home ventilation, cardiac investigations, nutrition and nursing care packages. We have an amazing multidisciplinary team including neurologists, cardiologists, respiratory physiologist, anaesthetists and clinical nurse specialists. We are also providing a 24 hour advice and help hotline to these patient’s and carer in the community. We have a lovely brand new unit with the latest respiratory and medical monitoring but we also offer psychological and mental health support for our patients who are young and have a strong desire to pursue the best quality of life.
We are looking for two band 6 senior staff nurses with a strong respiratory, cardio, neurological, medical or intensive care background to work in this new and exciting area. The successful candidates will have excellent communications skills and a strong interest in neuromuscular disorder, teaching and supporting patients and staff. They will need to be kind, patient and have an enthusiastic approach to dealing with patients who have very complex nursing care needs.
In turn we will offer you the ability to advance your skills and aim to provide you with a high standard of training in the clinical area and through our mentorship programme, clinical practice development team, clinical nurse specialists and from Southbank and City higher education institutions. The National Hospital has a wide range of educational, research and career pathways and we offer you the chance to work in an area which is pioneering.
