Charing Cross hospital is a 511 bedded acute general teaching hospital which is discretely set back on the north bank of the river Thames. Charing Cross hospital site is host to a specialist hyper acute stroke unit for the region and are a hub for integrated care in partnership with local GPs and community providers
Across the Trust we offer a range of echocardiographic examinations including adult TTE, 3D, TOE, DSE, bubble studies, contrast studies, valve clinic and an inherited disease echocardiography clinic. A number of these clinics are physiologist led or closely supported by the clinical team.
We are fortunate enough owing to an expansion, to be able to offer an experienced band 7's or senior band 6 cardiac physiologists an opportunity in the area of Echocardiography. As a band 6 you much have a minimum of two years' experience working at that level in Cardiac Physiology ideally having already passed the written BSE or EACVI exam
We offer a supportive environment for training and development. Have a minimum of six dedicated consultant led echo meeting/teaching sessions each month. We actively encourage attendance of internal and national conferences for continued professional development and peer to peer discussion. This role comes with development opportunities and progression for the right candidates.
You will be expected to demonstrate proven competency in performing and reporting echocardiography studies and have BSE, EACVI or similar accreditation and able to perform and led independently in all the other non-invasive areas to join our teams
In exchange you will be expected to demonstrate intention to develop, maturity and experience consistent with this grade and position, however, further training will be provided if necessary
The successful candidate must have successfully completed the BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science or Physiological Sciences 3 year program. Please note that you must have a valid Cardiac Physiology degree and practice as a qualified Cardiac Physiologist. If you do not possess a valid Cardiac physiology degree you will not be short listed" and therefore should not apply.
We currently offer a longer working day with a fortnightly day off. However a flexible working pattern could be discussed at interview. The Trust is actively promoting the provision of seven day diagnostic services; therefore some weekend working may be required
