Our client is looking for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to join their team.
You will be required -
To oversee, coordinate and develop the Physiotherapy department within this brand new Neurorehabilitation service. To work as part of the Physiotherapy team working within this specialist setting, providing a high standard of assessment, treatment, and advice for patients with acquired neurological conditions and disabilities across various pathways including acute neurorehabilitation, neurobehavioral management and rehabilitation, complex care, and assisted independent living. The post holder will report directly to the Head of Therapies, and work collaboratively within the integrated multidisciplinary teams to offer a comprehensive, patient-centred service.
The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff and assistants, as part of the wider therapy team and Interdisciplinary Team. In addition, the Lead will be assisting in developing the teams and the service delivery models, and will contribute to the development of a service from initiation to delivery of excellence. This will require a flexible approach to working, a commitment to team leadership and development, and a genuine passion to deliver neurorehabilitation of the highest calibre.
A key element in developing our client's new workforce is ensuring that they recruit the right people, with the right skills to be in post at the right time; and as such, values-based recruitment will be incorporated.
•To manage a caseload of patients of highly complex presentation, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
•To work with patients to identify Physiotherapy goals as part of the overall rehab plan.
•To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention using outcome measures.
•To apply a high level of understanding of the effect of disability and provide training and advice on lifestyles changes and adaptations to the clients social and physical environment.
•To undertake specialist assessment for patients with complex presentations.
•To be integral in discharge planning including liaising with community teams and equipment providers.
•To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Physiotherapy provision within the service.
•To contribute to the maintenance and development of the Physiotherapy service.
•To participate in the delivery of the Physiotherapy team development plan, including identifying areas for development, providing inhouse development opportunities, and ensuring continual development of the team.
•Contribute to clinical governance arrangements and quality agenda, including the setting and monitoring of practice standards and completing audits.
•To apply national guidelines/legislation relating to health and social care and specifically neuro rehabilitation.
•To take a lead role in the supervision and teaching of Physiotherapists and assistants.
•To oversee supervision provided by less senior Physiotherapists, eg Band 6 supervising Band 5.
•To provide skilled team leadership and be responsible for the operational management, team development, and implementation of policies.
•To contribute to the induction and training of other staff.
•To teach on the in-service training programme.
•To monitor and allocate students within the Physiotherapy team.
•To supervise Physiotherapy students on practice placement.
