Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.

We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the 'as is' and to always put patients first.

We want staff who will live our trust values every day.

Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable

This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.

All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery.  All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.

By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly.  Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making.  Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.

Attracting new talent is key to our future and the scale of our organisation will give far  more career, training and development opportunities for all our staff.

We are looking for compassionate, enthusiastic and caring Paediatric Nurses to join our Contingent Workforce within Southend Hospital. The Hospital is a dynamic place to work where individuals are supported and given opportunities to develop to their maximum potential.

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are looking for Band 5 Paediatric Nurses to complement our existing caring and highly-motivated nursing team to work in our dynamic children’s ward.

Deliver high quality holistic care with an emphasis on working in partnership with children and their families. Excellent organisation skills and an ability to prioritise a busy workload are also essential.

We strive to use the views of staff working in our service to improve our current and future service provision and in return, we promise a supportive and friendly place to work.
