Our client is a large hospital offering acute services across the whole of Northamptonshire. They offer specialist treatment in hyper-acute stroke, renal, vascular and oncology. The hospital provides the full range of outpatients, diagnostics, and inpatient and day case elective and emergency care and also has a growing range of specialist treatments. They are also able to offer some healthcare to private patients.
We are looking to recruit experienced Staff Nurses to join cardiac team at the hospital. This hospital fully supports nurses who want to progress and develop in their career and they pride themselves on their further education opportunities.
Working as part of the cardiac team on the ward you will be responsible for ensuring the right standard of care is provided to all patients at all time. You will be involved in the training of junior members of staff. Your day to day will involve assessing, planning and implementing care to patients on the wards, administration of IV drugs, ECG interpretation and chest drain management. As part of the team you will be expected to develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge and keep up to date with current practices. You may also be assigned other ad hoc duties as required by senior members of staff
Working hours are days, nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
- Experience of working with Cardiology/Cardio-thoracic patients
- Intermediate Life support required
- Assessing and mentorship qualification is desirable but not essential
- Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
- Adhere to confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate
To be considered for this role you will have at least one years' experience working in Cardiology. Ideally you will have intermediate life support and the ability to work well under pressure You will be a caring and compassionate nurse with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Working as part of a team you will have excellent communication skills and be a good team player.
