Are you a Care Assistant that is passionate about providing quality care? Would you like to join our team to support the delivery of a domiciliary care service to our residents in a Luxury Retirement Village?

The Extra Care Charitable Trustare now recruiting for Care and Support Workers to join the well-established care team at St Oswald's Retirement Village in Gloucester. We deliver a domiciliary care service under one roof so no more travelling!

This is an exciting time to be joining St Oswald's as we take Independent Living for the over 55’s to the next level. You will be welcomed as a Care and Support Worker into a fully supportive team, working in our independent living retirement village to deliver our in-house domiciliary care service to our residents.

Benefits - Golden Hello for all new care assistant starters of £500! (Criteria applies) 33 days annual leave (FTE) pro rata for part time, buy and sell holiday, free Life Insurance, cycle2work scheme, cash rewards for good attendance, free use of onsite gym, ongoing training, and development, plus the usual benefits.

Hours: 18 hours per week - Nights (Two 9 hour shifts per week on a rota basis)

Salary: £10.20 per hour

About You - If you’re compassionate, patient, and personable and looking to progress your career as a Care and Support Worker then we would love to hear from you. As a Care and Support Worker, you will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

  • Provide all aspects of domiciliary care to our residents including both physical, personal care and support with social activities,
  • Promoting and supporting the physical, emotional and wellbeing of our residents
  • Encourage independence and selfbelief
  • Ensure records and documents are completed in line with our policy.

Person Specification

  • Ideally qualified at Level 2, or equivalent, or hold the Care certificate with relevant transferable experience
  • Personable, an effective communicator and a team player
  • Passionate about delivering a quality care service
  • Flexible with hours.

St Oswald's Village has 166 apartments with over 200 residents and offers a whole range of communal social and leisure facilities in the village Centre which is open to residents, their families, and members of the wider local community. Some of which include a village hall, library, bar and bistro, gym, hair and beauty salons.
