Chemical Sales ( Graduate role)
We are delighted to be recruiting for our valued client in Runcorn, who, due to expansion now require a recent Chemistry Graduate to join their company. This will be a dual role with the person spending time in both Quality Control and also in the sales team. This would give any graduate a unique opportunity to train in two areas and decide which might be their preferred career path.
The successful applicant will ideally have graduated in the last two years and now be looking to use their chemistry knowledge in the workplace.
Main duties and responsibilities
Liaising with clients, suppliers and technical teams on a daily basis
Maintaining lines of communication with customers re.deliveries
Managing and growing an existing customer base
Handling technical enquiries received via telephone and email
Unpacking and sampling of chemicals
Obtaining and reporting full analysis of finished goods using analytical methods including NMR spectroscopy, LC-MAS, GC, HPLC, manual titrations and Karl Fischer titrations
Reporting quality issues and defects to the QC manager and customer base
Maintenance and trouble-shooting of analytical equipment
Creating all relevant documents such as safety data sheets
Graduate with a degree in Chemistry essential at BSc minimum
A well organised, self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills
Proficient with NMR interpretation
Confidence to take and make phone calls
Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads
Experience and competency with Microsoft Office
A comprehensive understanding of chemical hazards and familiar with SDS documentation
A flexible can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
