Brightwork are supporting with the recruitment of a Continuous Improvement Laboratory Chemist to join one of our prestigious manufacturing clients at their site on a Full Time, Permanent Basis with an Immediate start.

The role will see you 

Duties Include:

Management of the Laboratory equipment maintenance, qualification and service schedule.
Developing and monitoring lab performance indicators and assisting in defining solutions to improve equipment reliability.
Supporting the development of maintenance and service contracts including liasing with external service providers.
Administration of laboratory software packages including Chromatographic Data Systems, LIMS Software and other Lab Automation Software packages.
Undertaking ongoing personal development to maintain knowledge of current industry best practice.
Development, validation and verification of analytical methods as required.
Reviewing and improving existing methods, including HPLC and GC methods.
Supporting and facilitating equipment breakdown, troubleshooting and repairs.
Training and coaching of analysts on lab technologies including software and equipment.
Raising, investigating, and following up Laboratory Investigations where appropriate.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a Chemistry related subject and have a minimum of 3 years industrial experience within a regulated environment. They should have a proven track record of technical competence in laboratory techniques together with problem solving skills. Successful candidate will:

Have experience in HPLC and GC analytical method development, validation and verification of analytical methods, and be competent in the use of Chromatographic Data Systems.

Have advanced IT skills, and Lean Six Sigma training of at least yellow belt would be beneficial.

Have an understanding of the requirements of GMP/GLP and of the principles of Data Integrity.

Other essential behaviours are flexibility, self-motivation, attention to detail and a drive for results.
