Job Description

Domus are currently working on a really exciting role for a Clinical Services Manager to join a great team over in North Hertfordshire in a busy Private Mental Health Hospital. Reporting into the Hospital Director, the Clinical Services Manager forms part of the hospital Senior Management Team and is wholly responsible leading the Nursing team to ensure the delivery of an excellent standard of care, which promotes independence and dignity and positively enhances the lives of individuals in our care.

The role is the key liaison between Nursing and Therapies to ensure that patient care and the patient experience is at the highest level it can be as well as ensuring that the physical environment along with Health and Safety practices meet with regulatory and company standards.

You will be incredibly quality focused and have a passion for coaching the clinical team around you.


To carry responsibility for the Care delivery by the Nursing team; to include care planning quality, patient experience
Monitor staffing levels, recruitment, employee relations issues, performance and capability, absence management, employee welfare
Develop the skills of the care team based on audit, formal/informal meeting feedback and observations
Provide clinical leadership and challenge – presence at complex case reviews, CPA’s and safeguarding meetings where appropriate
Supervise the Service Leads, physical health nurse team and others as allocated. To provide clear expectations to supervisees on work expectations and monitor completion of deadlines and quality of work
Support the Service Leads to ensure training compliance sits at 90% and identify any training deficits to training and development team
Be proficient in computer-based programmes necessary to perform the role; Electronic patient record, Radar, Rota Master etc
Deputise for the Hospital Director during planned and ad hoc absence from the site
Maintain and develop positive relationships with stakeholders and act as a representative of the Hospital at external meetings and on site
Monitor contracts alongside the Hospital Director to ensure site compliance to contract and strong external communication with key relationship holders
Oversee safeguarding process and develop strong relationship and transparent communication with the local safeguarding team
Ensure that all CQC notifications are completed and submitted promptly

Skills required:

Excellent Managerial, leadership experience
Nursing qualification and current NMC registration
Strong Clinical experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working as a nurse in a Mental Health setting.
You must be RMN or RNLD or RGN qualified or desirably dual (RMN/RGN) qualified with a strong proven background of working in mental health.
Experience in elderly care or PICU is desirable, but not essential and you must possess excellent leadership qualities
You must have outstanding communication skills, excellent clinical skills and be motivated to offer the highest standards of care. It is essential you are prepared to take on an active leadership role supporting the operation of a twenty-four-hour business

Sal: £48-52K
