Job Description

An established Biotechnology Company is looking for an experienced Computational Biologist, with a passion for Drug Discovery, to join their rapidly growing scientific team in London.

The Company

They are working to bring to market novel cancer assays based on their proprietary technology. They are looking for someone with experience with NGS and exceptional molecular biology to really help the team to excel.

Computational Biologist Role:

This great opportunity is needing someone to come aboard and be able to contribute to multiple projects developing kits for cancer diagnostics. Reporting the Head of Bioinformatics, you will develop and implement statistical approaches to analyse diverse multi-omics data types to help identify novel drug targets, biomarkers and therapeutic mechanisms. Other responsibilities include:

Integrate and perform meta-analysis of public & internal data sets to generate testable hypotheses
Develop and implement computational approaches to translate human genetic and genomic evidence to inform Oncology/Fibrosis target selection, validation and patient stratification decisions
Computational Biologist Requirements:

Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics-related subject, preferably with 3-5 years postdoc and/or industry experience
A strong understanding of statistical concepts and a demonstrated, high level proficiency in the application of a range of classical and modern statistical methods
Experience with regression, including linear/non-linear models and mixed effect models, and a range of clustering methods such as graph-based approaches
Experience in the statistical analysis and interpretation of diverse omics datasets
Strong programming/scripting skills in a language such as R, Python
Experience with databases such as TCGA, GTEx, cBioPortal and CCLE
