Royal London Hospital
We are looking for a consultant to establish and lead a new frailty service at the Royal London Hospital.
Recent investment has meant the creation of a team of expert therapists, specialist nurses and consultants to provide comprehensive geriatric assessment to frail and elderly patients in the emergency department, admissions units and speciality wards.
The successful candidate will not only be passionate about caring for older and frail patients, but will also have the drive and enthusiasm to develop a new high profile service.
There are many opportunities for developing innovative patient pathways, with the hospital having one of the busiest emergency departments in the country, many specialist tertiary services and close links with community partners through the Tower Hamlets Together Vanguard.
The Royal London has excellent links with Queen Mary University and the department has a strong educational focus, with opportunities for teaching medical students of all levels and to be involved in innovative projects around medical education.
The job plan consists of 10 Programmed Activities per week and successful candidates will participate in an on-call rota. Details of the job plan are included in the application pack.

Candidates must have GMC registration with a licence to practice and have MRCP or equivalent and be able to demonstrate a suitable background and experience in managing all aspects of elderly care, evidenced by CCT (or within 6 months of expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview).
