Consultant Psychiatrist - CAMHS (ASD)
95.00 - 100.00 per hour
Surrey and Hampshire

Timesheets are capped at 8hrs per day

We are recruiting on behalf of a private client who is carrying out autism assessments in Surrey and Hampshire (CYP.) We are looking to recruit clinicians to work on a flexible, adhoc basis where they can give as much or as little availability each month as they please. Work is available weekends and weekdays.

The assessment models are as follows:

Children & Young People.
An autism assessment for CYP is split into two appointments:

The ADOS assessment (carried out by a pair consisting of a Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist and a Speech and Language Therapist) and a Developmental History appointment.

This is carried out by a Community Paediatrician or Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist who are experienced and knowledgeable about neurodevelopmental conditions and specifically ASD. The doctor will see 4 children in a day with each DH appointment lasting approx. 1hr. They are responsible for carrying out a thorough developmental history (using whatever tool they prefer e.g. ADIR, 3DI or their own version of the two) and then combining this along with the ADOS information gathered in the first appointment as well as the school information obtained during the screening process, to conclude the assessment and either diagnose or not diagnose and provide feedback to the family. They are also responsible for dictating their reports for each child they see (4 a day) and returning those dictations to us within 48hrs for typing. The admin team will then return the typed and formatted report for final check and sign off.

There is a need to recruit to various locations in Surrey and Hampshire.

If you would like to arrange a conversation about the role, an informal visit or would like to apply, please contact the recruitment team on (phone number removed) or apply here.
