Consultant Psychiatrist – (General Adult Psychiatry)- Wallasey and West Wirral Adult and Older People Community Mental Health Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (8PA’s +1 Flexible PA) Consultant Psychiatrist (General Adult Psychiatry) in Wallasey and West Wirral Adult and Older Peoples Community Mental Health Service . The post holder will be a core member of the Wallasey and West Wirral Adult and Older Peoples Community Mental Health Service. She/he will provide leadership to community staff and community care to patients with severe and enduring mental disorders aged below 65 years of age and those above 65 years of age (without any significant physical health needs and cognitive impairment).

There are 2 adult and Older Peoples Community teams in Wirral along with Wirral Access Service, Inpatient units, Home Treatment Team and other specialist teams in ADHD, EIT and Complex Needs. The post holder will be based in the Stein centre in St Catherine’s Hospital, Wirral

The suitably qualified candidate will have experience in clinical service provision in adult community services. Team leadership skills and expertise in the assessment and management of patients with severe and enduring mental disorders is required. The Post holder will work closely alongside the existing 2 adult and 1 old age community Consultants in Wallasey and West Wirral Adult and Older Peoples Mental Health Service .
