Two General Consultant Radiologists with sub-speciality interest
Applications are invited for substantive Consultant posts in a busy Radiology department, joining a friendly and supportive team of consultants and staff at Newham University Hospital, to help us to meet increasing demand across all imaging modalities.
We are looking for two highly enthusiastic and motivated consultants to join our existing team of radiologists to help deliver the service and to support the active training programme.
The successful candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent up-to-date general radiology skills, as well as having a sub-speciality interest. We are flexible regarding the subspecialty interest of the radiologist but would particularly welcome radiologists with an interest in chest, neuroradiology, or paediatric radiology. The roles are for 10 programmed activities per week, at least 2 of which will be in your own specialist interest, 1 for on-call, and with a minimum of 1.5 support activities. Time will also be allocated for MDT attendance and preparation.
The successful candidates will be team players will need to demonstrate professional excellence and the ability to deliver compassionate and efficient patient care in a timely manner.
The posts will be primarily based at Newham University Hospital, with opportunities for working across the Imaging Network. Newham University Hospital, as part of Barts Health NHS Trust, is a 350-bed hospital that serves one of Britain’s most diverse, fastest growing and youngest populations. The Radiology department in Newham University Hospital is a busy, modern and well equipped department with 7 fully digital general X-ray rooms (DR) and 1 Fluoroscopy screening room, six ultrasound rooms, a state-of-the-art 128 slice dual source CT scanner, a new state-of-the-art wide-bore 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner, a digital mammography unit equipped with biopsy module, and nuclear medicine services. We are a completely paperless department with a cross-trust HIS, PACS, RIS and VR system for reporting.
Research and teaching activities are encouraged and supported by the active academic department and there is a highly successful training programme with 35 registrars.
