Days&Hours: Tuesday and Friday 9.00 am to 7.00 pm. Alternate Saturdays, usually 11.00 am to 5.00 pm

About this client:
Megan is a 25-year-old young lady who enjoys an active and sociable life. She is lively, chatty and enjoys having fun. Megan sustained a brain injury at birth, which resulted in moderate cerebral palsy and learning difficulties. She can communicate verbally and is fully mobile. Megan does present with behaviours that can challenge, this is usually verbal aggression towards staff, the throwing of objects, and occasionally self-harm. Megan lives with her family in an annex of the family home so is semi-independent.
Overview of role:
We are looking for a *female Support Worker to assist Megan 1:1 in all aspects of her daily living as well as support to manage her anxieties and concerns. Some of the activities will involve meal preparation, light household duties, attending appointments, supporting Megan in participating in her voluntary role and assisting her so she can enjoy a busy social life that includes going to the cinema, meals out, day trips, and festivals. Megan is very independent but does struggle to lift arms above her head so will need assistance with hair washing. Megan can display behaviours that challenge so her support workers need to be experienced in maintaining a calm and consistent approach. The hourly rates are £ 15.50 gross on weekdays and £17.50 gross during weekends.
Who this job would suit:
We are looking for a *female Support Worker who is calm and patient, with an ability to be proactive and resourceful. Strong communication skills and supporting the client to manage her anxiety are essential. You’ll support Megan in a variety of situations within the local community and when at home. All candidates will need to be drivers with access to their own car, mileage will be paid when on duty.
