In need of a new challenge
Looking for a position with wide variety and opportunities to develop your skills?
If so, Solent NHS Trust Special Care Dental Service has the opportunity for you!
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, highly motivated Dental Nurses to work across our Clinics in Southampton and New Forest. The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to work alongside Dentists, Dental Therapists and the wider team to provide an efficient service for our special care patients. The Special Care Dental Service provides care under conscious sedation, general anesthesia as well as domiciliary care and makes a great difference across the community to patients with dental phobias to children and adults with learning disabilities.
The successful candidate will be required to be confident, able to work under pressure and have the ability to communicate effectively, delivering care with dignity and respect in a kind and compassionate manner.
Applicants must have the NVQ or Equivalent in Dental Nursing and be registered with the GDC. It is important that applicants are able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent IT and organisational skills are also essential.
'The training provided has enabled me to become a highly skilled member of staff that is fully equipped to meet the needs of the patients we see and look after them with a set of skills learnt and nurtured by the Special Care Dental Service. All the extra training that I have had since joining the team at Gosport has enabled me to progress. For me this is one of the main reasons I moved from a General Dental Practice to Special Care to gain knowledge and progress. I hope to continue to develop and grow for many years to come within this service.' - Holly, Solent Special Care Dental Nurse
