Spire London East Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Children and Young Persons Lead Nurse to join our Paediatric Service. Deputising for lead nurse and leading the team, working clinically and supporting standards and regulatory aspects of the service. Our paediatric surgical ward cover a number of complex specialties orthopaedic , ENT, plastics , gastro ,urology or general surgery.

Spire London East Hospital (formerly Spire Roding) is located in Redbridge, on the borders of East London and Essex.  We offer comprehensive private hospital services, ranging from outpatient clinics and physiotherapy to surgery and diagnostic tests in a relaxed, clean and comfortable environment.

The hospital has 24 inpatient beds and 16 day case rooms called ‘pods’. Facilities include four operating theatres, an endoscopy suite, 2 extended recovery unit, pharmacy, x-ray, outpatient and diagnostic facilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deputising for the Manger of children’s and young person service
  • working clinically as well as undertaking the clerical aspect of the role
  • Working as a practitioner in and across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
  • Challenging consultants to influence evidence based practice
  • Share evidence based practices with colleagues to enhance service and standards

Who we are looking for

  • Must be a registered children’s nurse with at least 1 years’ experience as working as nurse in charge
  • Must have experience of working in a junior leadership / management position and be familiar with regulatory standards and experience of inspections both internally and externally.
  • This is a position where clinical hours are expected to be worked, working a variety of shifts including weekends on a fair rotational basis when required. The clinical work will be predominantly in a ward setting but the successful candidate will also be expected to support children’s services within an outpatients and pre-assessment
