Job Description

Finegreen are recruiting on behalf of a leading independent healthcare provider. This is an excellent opportunity for a Deputy Theatre Manager to join their Theatres Department within a private hospital based in London.
The postholder will deputise in the absence of the Theatre Manager to ensure the Theatre department is efficiently and effectively staffed and managed, enabling the staff to perform to the best of their potential. The Deputy Theatre Manager will ensure the theatre team delivers effective patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership, maximising effective theatre utilisation and to maintain activity levels within a clinically safe environment.

The Deputy Theatre Manager will support the Theatre Manager to assist with the management of Theatres and Endoscopy and the teams within, developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to achieve service objectives, enabling the provision of the highest standards of care and services.  The successful candidate will lead by example and promote best clinical practice with the Theatre Department.

The postholder will initiate investigation into any complaints or untoward incidents, accidents or other issues that may arise within the department and provide feedback and timely responses. You will also participate in external audits and assessments as required and deliver governance standards in line with the Hospital’s Governance framework. The Deputy Theatre Manager will audit quality of care to improve service and ensure standards are maintained.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate:

  • Registered Nurse with recognised post graduate qualification or Registered ODP with cert HE/Diploma; 
  • Recognised post graduate qualification or relevant experience;
  • Expert clinical skills in Theatre (includes anaesthetics, scrub and recovery);
  • Management experience;
  • Good facilitation, presentation, teaching and assessing skills;
  • Knowledge of COSHH procedures and Risk Management & an understanding of HR Policies and Procedures;
  • Ability to critically analyse research and evidence-based practice.
