On the 1st October 2019 the Mental Health and Learning disability services in North Cumbria, currently managed by Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will be transferring to Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. Would you like a change of direction? If so, this could be the right opportunity for you. From October 1st 2019, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS FT will be providing mental health services to North and West Cumbria. With new investment, we are expanding our pharmacy team in North and West Cumbria. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and patient-focussed dispensing assistant with good communication and team working skills.

Our dispensing assistants provide support to ward based clinical pharmacy teams which includes dispensing medicines for leave and discharge on inpatient wards, stock management, audit and governance.

We provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to all our mental health, learning disability and neurological rehabilitation inpatient teams. We also provide services to community mental health teams, crisis teams, and other specialist services throughout the region.

This post is based at Carleton Clinic in Carlisle. We offer flexible working opportunities and would consider part time applicants for this position.

To be eligible to join us in this exciting role you will already hold, be working towards or be willing to study for an NVQ2 Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, with appropriate GCSE qualifications in Maths and English.

All of our clinical posts (and certain others), are subject to DBS clearance prior to commencement.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). If you start in post prior to the 1st October 2019 the cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Applications from candidates who require Tier 2 immigration status to work in the UK are welcome, but such candidates will not be appointed to the post if there are a sufficient number of other suitable candidates as the employing body will in those circumstances be unable to satisfy the Resident Market Labour Test, as required by the Border immigration Authority.

In view of recent changes to Home Office Immigration Regulations all applicants must state their current immigration status, including expiry dates.

Please note if you are external to Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust you will be subject to a six month probationary period (this does not apply to those not under Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions of Service).
