From October 1st 2019, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS FT will be providing mental health services to North and West Cumbria. With new investment, we are expanding our pharmacy team in North and West Cumbria. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and patient-focussed dispensing assistant with good communication and team working skills.
Our dispensing assistants provide support to ward based clinical pharmacy teams which includes dispensing medicines for leave and discharge on inpatient wards, stock management, audit and governance.
We provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to all our mental health, learning disability and neurological rehabilitation inpatient teams. We also provide services to community mental health teams, crisis teams, and other specialist services throughout the region.
This post is based at Carleton Clinic in Carlisle. We offer flexible working opportunities and would consider part time applicants for this position.
To be eligible to join us in this exciting role you will already hold, be working towards or be willing to study for an NVQ2 Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, with appropriate GCSE qualifications in Maths and English.

If you start in post prior to the 1st October 2019 the cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:
Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.
Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
