Who we are looking for:
Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance is seeking experienced Emergency Practitioners from either a nursing or paramedic background to work on a bank basis for an Acute Visiting Service in Coventry due to commence in June 2019 initially for a six month pilot.
Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance has been established for 5 years and runs a number of successful clinical services in Coventry and Rugby including Extended Access Services, Admiral Nurses, DESMOND diabetes education and is a Community Education Provider Network for Health Education West Midlands.
The GP Alliance are looking for experienced emergency practitioners to join our team to provide an innovative, quality, responsive and integrated service to housebound patients of Coventry.
You will work alongside a team of multidisciplinary professionals providing clinical health, therapy and social care in admission prevention / avoidance service. You will utilise appropriate clinical skills, within the scope of practice of a paramedic or emergency care practitioner, for the assessment, treatment and management of acute medical care to patients in their own homes. You will also ensure that special emphasis is placed on the provision of care to prevent hospital admissions as well as providing medical care to your housebound patients.
So what do you need to join our team?
• To be a Registered Paramedic / nurse with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience.
• Experience of automatous practice and additional training in minor illness/injury.
• Good understanding of primary care, community services and alternative pathways.
• Passion to deliver high quality care to patients with acute medical need in community settings.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• To work flexible shift patterns, between 09.00 to 19.00 Monday to Friday
You will have the added support of working under the direction of the Medical Director and Director of Nursing with access to training in line with your professional development needs. This includes palliative care, long term conditions, wound care and frailty to name but a few.
The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and prepared to facilitate the change in direction in which community nursing is undertaking. Good communication, leadership and organisational skills are essential. You must be a team player but be able to work autonomously and have the ability to champion the needs of your patient.
