Job Description

Engagement Coordinator - This is an interesting role working for a charity in Cambridgeshire that supports people who supports people who care for a family member or friend. As the Engagement Coordinator you'll be responsible for raising the profile of the charity in the local area so that people who may need their support know where they can turn to. You'll engage with the public, community groups, healthcare professionals and education providers to increase awareness of support that the charity can provide. The Engagement Coordinator role

  • As the Engagement Coordinator, your role is to increase the profile of the charity so that people who care for a family member or friend know that there is someone that they can turn to support or help.
  • You'll engage with organisations such as community groups like the scouts or the rotary club, healthcare providers such as GP~s or hospitals, and education providers to help build their capacity to pro-actively identify and support family carers. You'll attend meetings and present to member of these organisations to create a better awareness of what the charity can do.
  • You'll provide support to schools and colleges to engage and support young people who care, so that their voice can influence service design a and delivery nationally and locally
  • Represent the voice of carers multiagency meetings

About the Charity

This charity can help Carers with; emotional or practical support including providing care to their relative so that they can take a break, A carers emergency service that helps in a crisis, Information and advise on grants benefits and other help available, Giving carers a voice so that they are listened to by local decision makers and Support for young carers through activities, clubs and mentoring in school.

The Successful Candidate

  • For this post we're looking for somebody that has prior experience in an Engagement/ communications type role. This may have been within a charity or within a corporate organisation .
  • You'll be a confident presenter, able to talk and present to groups of people
  • You'll have excellent communications skills and be able to communicate the charities message effectively, increase brand awareness and influence others to do the same. You'll feel comfortable to talking people 1:2:1 and as part of a large group.
  • You'll be flexible and willing to work hours to meet the demands of the role, this will include evenings and weekends as many of the public and community groups that you'll be engaging with meet at these times. (This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, an you'll manage your own diary).
  • You'll be a driver with your own vehicle
  • You'll have an excellent customer service ethos
