Job Description

We have fantastic opportunity for an Facilities Management Lead to join Circle Birmingham Hospital which is our first large-scale rehabilitation hospital, which will be co-located with an elective private hospital, on the former BBC Pebble Mill site in Birmingham. The 120-bed rehabilitation hospital will be open August 2019. It will include provision for private and NHS patients, along with day-case and outpatient rehabilitation facilities with significant investment in new technologies. It will incorporate the luxurious interiors and hospitality for which Circle&;s private hospitals are known, along with world class equipment.

Role & Responsibilities

This is a key role as you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective running of a brand new Hospital, supporting engineering staff to complete maintenance activities across the Hospital site and grounds.

Flexible and well-organised, you may sometimes work out of hours to complete maintenance task or repair faults and co-ordinate with the on call team.

Reporting to the Head of Estates, you should have experience of operating a building management system (CAFM), and used to dealing with specialist areas such as Medical gases, water safety and decontamination and specialist contractors such as lift management and Fire alarms.

You will also provide reports to key stakeholders across the business, ensuring a safe and compliant building is in operation.

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual who can step out of their comfort zone. You must be able to lead a team and prioritise workload. Ideally experienced in Technical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering but we will consider other Trades.

Person Specification:

  • 4 Year Apprenticeship or Training Scheme
  • City & Guilds recognized equivalent training in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience in electrical property maintenance essential including the following:-
