Hours 2 Management Sessions a week + 6 Clinical sessions a week
Purpose as a Clinical Lead for the Walk in Healthcare Centre your
role is very important in providing dedicated clinical leadership for the
team for the delivery of a safe, efficient, reliable and a high-quality
clinical service. As an experienced clinical leader your leadership style is
always delivered with a caring and respectful disposition. You will work
closely with the Service Manager, Clinical Manager to support delivery of
the contract requirements including QOF, LCS and DES and other
CQUINs and Primary Care targets for the benefit of our patients. You
will also develop effective teamwork and additionally work closely with
Governance Manager to take accountability for service compliance with
robust governance processes within company governance framework. You
will form links and develop relationships with internal and external
stakeholders and those working in the wider healthcare community. As a
credible clinician you will be able to influence and utilise negotiation skills
in the best interest of patients when such advocacy is required. The post
holder will be a General Practitioner with experience of Primary Care and
leadership within Clinical Governance providing a level of critical enquiry
but while also providing support to the team. Above all else, as one of

Walk In Healthcare Centre
The service provides a Primary Medical Service to over 8000 registered
patient’s and includes the Special Allocation Scheme (SAS) patients for
several CCG’s. We have a range of patients we provide care for with a
large student population. We have a clinical team of GP’s, advanced
Clinical Practitioner, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants working
with the operational team of a Service Manager, Administrator’s and
Receptionists to deliver high quality care to our patients.

accountabilities
Clinical Duties
• To provide clinical care to patients this will include assessing,
diagnosing and treating patients presenting with clinical needs that
can be met by Primary Care including, telephone triage and face to
face assessments
• Provide emergency care while waiting for emergency transfer of
patient when appropriate
• Provide advice and support to colleagues and the multi-disciplinary
team.
• Manage the flow of patients by balancing the clinical need of the
patient with the capacity of the provider to deliver the necessary
response.
• To adhere to the highest personal and professional standards as set
out by the GMC and to put individual patient care as your priority.
• Maintains the highest clinical standards at all times and practices in
accordance with accepted good medical practice and service
standards.
Operations
• Act as a point of reference for GPs within the service to provide
guidance, advice and mentorship
• Working with the Service Manager & Clinical Manager to support the
development, delivery and review of the service specification to
include (not an exhaustive list) QOF, LCS, DES, CQUINs and their
KPI targets, resource profile and cost management.
• Attend regular meetings with Service Manager to support the delivery
of the service.
• Provide clinical leadership for the Service and the primary health
care team in delivery of clinical care and recruitment of clinical team
members.
• Support marketing and communications
Clinical Leadership
• To provide clinical leadership and support to the service GPs,
nurses, Paramedics and other allied health professionals
• Support the Service with clinical performance management issues.
• To provide input with regard to development: clinical
protocols/procedures, clinical systems use, evidence-based practice,
medicines management, clinical induction, probation sign off &
training and audit
Clinical Governance, Health & Safety & Complaint Management
• To work with the Clinical Manager and support implementation and
delivery of key clinical governance processes within the service in
line with the governance framework requirements, chairing the
GHW governance meetings.
• To consider with regard to Governance: NHS Standards for Health,
Infection Control, Caldicott, Clinical Incident Reporting/SIRIs,
Safeguarding Children and Adults, patient experience, Complaints
(not an exhaustive list).
• To support the Registered Manager in CQC compliance for the
service
• Work with the Service Manager to ensure training, significant events,
complaints, audits, surveys and other professional service
development activities are achieved to ensure the smooth running of
the service.
• Involvement in regular Governance Quality Assurance meetings as
well as quality and contract meetings with the commissioning CCGs
• Undertaking regular monitoring of the service and individuals by a
regular process of audit and review
• Leading quality improvement initiatives within the clinical workforce
working alongside the Clinical and Quality Director to identify and
implement quality and safety initiatives
