Head of Adult Inpatients - Full Time / Permanent - Grimsby

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Adult Inpatients to join our client on a full time, permanent basis in Grimsby. The client is an independent registered charity providing hospice care services for adults, children and their families who are adjusting to a life living with life-limiting conditions, up to their death and on into family bereavement support. They are one of the local leading providers of palliative and end of life care, a highly successful and forward-thinking charity with a turnover of c£5m, offering both adult and children's services. With an excellent reputation both in the local community and beyond, they reach over 800 patients and their families in North East Lincolnshire.

As an Operational Manager and a member of the hospice's leadership Team, this role will play an active part in the determination and delivery of hospice strategies and associated business plans, reflecting the vision, mission and company values. You role will be to effectively line manage the adult inpatient lead Nurse, providing support, supervision and advice as required. To ensure the Adult Inpatient Nursing team are knowledgeable in palliative and end of life care issues and continually update themselves with current trends in policy and practice. Monitor and enforce appropriate behaviour in the workplace in accordance with hospice policies and procedures. Monitor and ensure the safe storage, administration and management of medicines including controlled drugs as stated in the Misuse of Drugs Act 2001.

In order to be considered for the role you must possess the following skills and experience:

Valid NMC registration
Qualification in palliative care or willingness to undertake this qualification.
Evidence of continual professional development.
Extensive experience in adult services; ideally within palliative care.
Proven management experience.
In-depth knowledge of symptom management within palliative care.
Time management
IT skills
Self motivated
