Do you have experience working with gene editing and/or gene synthesis in relation to DNA? Are you looking for a new leadership challenge with an exciting business?

Our client are a rapidly growing business who focus on pioneering new technology within gene editing and gene synthesis. The company pride themselves on innovative gene therapies to treat patients and look to make a positive impact in the world. They are now looking to recruit a Head of Gene Synthesis to join their team.

Responsibilities will include managing and leading the development of DNA synthesis and novel purification methods as well as overseeing the translation and upscaling to GMP conditions. This will include analysing and presenting experimental data and results as well as looking to identify issues and come up with solutions. This position will be integral to the R&D function of the business and you will work closely with a range of individual at a variety of level to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on time. You will also need to be a subject matter expert in DNA involving purification and amplification.

To be considered for the role you will hold a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, ideally Biotechnology or Molecular Biology. You should also have extensive experience in nucleic acid or biologics synthesis and purification, specifically across managing projects and processes in these areas. Experience of a commercial laboratory and scale up is also highly important, as is expertise in AKTA platform and crossflow filtration. You should be able to work well as part of a team as well as autonomously and have the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
