Since 2017, Virgin Care in partnership with Barnardos working together as The Essex Child and Family Wellbeing service have delivered innovative and refreshing health and social care pre-birth to 19 years services to Essex Families. We have developed our own unique approach where our families are at the centre of everything we do.
We're looking for a committed Band 6 Health Visitor on a full time or part time basis to join our Billericay Family Hub. You will continue to lead the way with your ideas and join a dedicated team who are continually reviewing the way they deliver local services in order to have an impact on the development and wellbeing of children in South Essex.
You will be an NMC Registered Nurse or Midwife with a Specialist Public Health Nursing qualification and have the ability to vary your communication style in order to relate to children / families effectively, along with a 'can-do' attitude.
Your days will vary and responsibilities will include: working with our multi-professional teams to facilitate multi-agency and interdisciplinary working, prescribe as appropriate from the Nurse prescribers formulary, promote and maintain an effective service to clients, using the assessment framework, communication, negotiation and collaboration and prioritise own work in line with areas of highest risk, delegating work to the wider skill mix team appropriately.

We also understand the importance of employee recognition and host regular 'away days' which include team activities, this recently involved sharing compliments to individual team members, we provide lunch and discuss upcoming projects and present star awards for outstanding contributions.
Community Engagement Workers, together with our Deputy Hub Coordinator attended Basildon Fun Day Festival last week. They spoke to many families handing out leaflets and service timetables to promote Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service and how we can assist families struggling with mental health problems.
The event attended by over 300 people and was organised by a local family in memory of their son, who sadly took his own life after suffering with mental health problems. Alongside information stalls there were a wide variety of activities for families to enjoy, including a sponsored fire walk, live music and comedy.
