Job Description

HOME MANAGER (Nurse Qualified)



40 hours per week, including some weekends, nights and on call duties

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Home Manager to join our fantastic organisation we pride ourselves on providing consistently high standards of comfort and care for our residences .

Job purpose:

To ensure our residents have a dignified and fulfilled life by evidencing high standards of care and service delivered in a consistent way, managing staff teams and resources.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all our customers, especially our residents, receive the highest standards of care and service which meets their needs as well as legislative requirements and company standards.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping in relation to the care and service delivery in particular maintaining an agreed plan of care.
  • Achieve agreed financial targets by improving income and effectively managing costs.
  • Proactively market the home and company to improve occupancy and fees by using marketing information, promoting the home's unique selling points and developing an action plan.
  • Lead and manage staff to ensure a quality service which continuously improves.
  • Act professionally at all times, working within the professional codes of conduct. 
  • Evidence ongoing self-development. 
  • Manage performance of staff to meet residents' needs, business needs and statutory requirements; taking action to ensure any identified shortfalls in performance are addressed, with support from HR where required.
  • Identify training needs through the appraisal system.

To be consider you will need the following skills and attributes;

  • Management of care home or similar
  • Relevant management experience in a similar environment
  • Maintained NMC registration
  • Relevant management qualification
  • Care of the elderly course Demonstrate working knowledge of care standards
  • Effective communicator Demonstrable evidence of leadership qualities Planning and organising skills Demonstrable evidence of written records
  • Flexible approach to working Supportive of staff Reliable and Trustworthy Understanding of confidentiality
