The Home Manager will: Participate in the planning process for the home, specifying aims and objectives, areas of service to be developed and the delegation of responsibilities to staff and volunteers

Responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Home's financial plan, balancing income, against expenditure and taking early appropriate action against predicted overspends, in consultation with the Services Manager

This home in Ripley - provides nursing dementia care for our 48 residents, in homely, en suite accommodation. Our calm and welcoming space is designed for people living with dementia. It's safe, reassuring and as easy to navigate as possible, enabling us to provide personalised care in a warm, supportive and friendly environment. We also offer short-term respite care and day care.


As the Home Manager working in Ripley you'll be expect:

To form and maintain open and constructive relationships with all who have either an interest, or statutory duty, to ensure good practice and so enhance the quality of life for residents. These will include residents, relatives/carers, staff (local, Regional and Head Office), and volunteers

Establish and maintain in the home the atmosphere and practice of care based on the values of Methodist Homes, deriving from a concern for the individual and mutual respect between residents and staff

Participate with Services Manager, HR Manager and/or other senior staff in the recruitment and selection of staff, in line with best practice as described in the Recruitment and Selection Manual.

4 Be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and promotion of the organisation's Policies and procedures


2 to 3 years Home manager experience

Willingness to undertake NVQ Level 4 in Care or LMC Level 4 Award

Senior level in a care related field

Managing financial plans/budget Supervising, appraising, training and coaching a staff team

Computer literate with experience of word-processing/ spreadsheets/databases/e-mail

Maintain all aspects of confidentiality and the ability to comply with all legislative requirements in relation to service users and staff

Communicate verbally in a clear, concise and succinct and assertive manner Listen in an open and reflective

Write reports clearly and concisely
