Job Description

A healthcare environment in near Harrow are seeking Hospital Porters to join its expanding team to be responsible for the safe transportation of often very ill and very frail patients between different wards and departments. The Porter may also transport complex and valuable equipment that may need expert handling around the building. This helps with understanding the different needs of the patients and enables the client to provide the best possible service. Training courses may also be available for progression opportunities. As the Hospital Porter your duties will include: - Transferring patients to and from wards and departments. Delivering clean linen to various wards. - Moving furniture and medical equipment safely. - Transferring files, specimen samples and pharmacy boxes to different parts of the hospital. - Lifting, carrying and transporting complex and valuable equipment between departments so doctors and surgeons can carry out their operations and procedures in time. - Delivering emergency drugs to the rightwards. - Working in every area of the hospital from the delivery suite to the mortuary and everything in-between.

To be a successful Hospital Porter you will have the following skills and experience: - A friendly manner. - Excellent customer service skills. - Physically fit as heavy lifting is required. - Excellent timekeeping. In return, the successful candidate will receive up to £16.92 p/h (shift dependant).
