We are currently looking to recruit a Junior Sister to across the Surgical ward of the hospital.
Working as the Junior Sister you will be responsible for leading the team to ensure the right standard of care is given to patients at all times. You will act as a support to all junior members of staff guiding them in their day to day and keeping up to date on current practices. You will encapsulate the ethos of the hospital supporting patients through their journey. You will get involved with planning and implementing new polices and procedures to assist in improvements across all clinical areas. Part of your role will involve bed planning and ensuring that you have enough staff on the wards to adequately care for all of the patients at all times. You will have an innate ability to quickly identify any issues or concerns and act accordingly. You will also participate in ward rounds and assist medical staff with clinical procedures when required. You will also be assigned any other ad hoc duties by more senior members of staff.
To be considered for this role you will have at least 2+ years experience working in a surgical setting, ideally at senior level. HDU experience is also desirable for this role. Working in a senior role you will have excellent communication and leadership skills and a strong ability to work effectively within a team and to motivate a team. You will have strong knowledge or current issues in nursing practice and effective problem solving techniques.
