Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital has some exciting opportunities for Lead Paediatric Nurse to join our experienced and dynamic team.

Spire Tunbridge Wells is a 40 bedded acute hospital situated in rural Kent, located within five miles of Royal Tunbridge Wells and on the boundaries of West Sussex. The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including two operating theatres, a sterile services department, a dedicated endoscopy suite, and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. There are outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days a week.

About the role:

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced and motivated Lead nurseto join our Paediatric team.To lead provision of exemplary planned care for patients up to the age of 18 years. Lead specialist in all clinical areas providing specialist education and audit. To ensure the teams delivery of effective care by providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Risk assessing children and young people regarding suitability for admission
  •  Undertaking pre-assessment of all admission
  • Liaising with all multi-disciplinary team to ensure safety of admission pathways and availability of appropriately trained staff
  • Providing service and advice to all departments
  • Developing strategies and policies for service improvement

Job Requirements

Who we're looking for:

  • Registered Sick Children’s Nurse
  • Degree qualification in a clinical specialism
  • Child Protection level 3
  • Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
  • Challenging consultants to influence evidence based practice
  • Share evidence based practices with colleagues to enhance service and standards
  • Willing to participate in flexible working pattern
  • Willing to travel on company business and to share expertise between hospital locations
