Job Description

We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated and conscientious person to undertake the role of lead technician for formulary.

You will work as part of the medicines information team alongside colleagues based within all the organisations across the MSB footprint. Your main responsibilities will be the on-going support to the work programme of the Mid Essex Area Prescribing Committee and MEHT Medicines optimisation and safety group to assist in the development of a Joint Formulary to ensure equitable access of medicines across the Mid & South Essex health community. This will include being responsible for reviewing, updating and maintaining the formulary to ensure it is in line with current evidence and cost effective prescribing.

You will work with primary and secondary care clinicians in a variety of ways which may include developing prescribing guidelines and researching information including critical appraisals of medicines submitted for inclusion onto the joint formulary.

You will also have the opportunity to support the clinical teams in the development, review and implementation of effective patient pathways across the interface to optimise patient care and collaborative working.

MEHT contracts are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period.

All Registered Nurse/Midwife/Theatre Practitioner or ODP you will be required to take a Drug Calculation Test. (please note 100% pass mark required)

All HCA/HCSW/MCA will be required to take a Literacy and Numeracy test (80% pass required) as part of the pre employment process.
