Client Details

Michael Page Healthcare are working on an agency block booking with consistent shifts available from October 2021 until early 20202. We are working with one of the UK's largest private healthcare providers who are looking for a Major Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse/ODP to join them on a block booking at their surgical hospital north of Durham, North East. The hospital itself is a specialist in Cosmetic Surgery, Men's and Women's health, and General Surgery. This site is based near Durham and due to volume of work and demand for surgery they require experienced Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioners (RGN/ODP) to pick up block booking agency shifts until early 2022.

As Major Orthopaedic Scrub in this private hospital you will be experienced in major joint surgery including knee or hip replacement. You will work alongside a team of experts in their respective fields who aim to provide outstanding patient outcomes. My client is one of the most recognisable names in private healthcare, delivering optimum levels of care across the UK to paying patients. The hospital is based just outside of Durham, North East and is easily accessible via car or public transport.

Description

As Major Orthopaedic Scrub in this private hospital, Durham you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and supporting the operational team to implement the care, writing person centred care plans & risk assessments
  • Acting as a link between the surgical team and other parts of the hospital
  • Preparing specialist drugs and equipment including anaesthetic machine and IV equipment
  • Providing appropriate treatment to patient until they recover from anaesthesia effects or surgery
  • Communicating regularly with the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team, acting as the patient's advocate
  • Auditing, reviewing, and maintaining clinical documentation
  • Monitoring and ensuring the delivery of care is clinically suitable & evidence based

Profile

The successful Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner (Majors) will have the following:

  • Active & Valid NMC/HCPC Registration
  • Clear Enhanced DBS (Children's & Adults)
  • Legal right to live and work in the UK
  • Experience working in a similar setting (hospital)

As Agency Major Ortho Scrub you will be:

  • Compassionate, empathetic, and understanding of patient's needs and potential distress at requiring surgery
  • Confident and competent working as part of a broad multidisciplinary team of healthcare staff
  • Up to date with theoretical and clinical advances within the healthcare and nursing industry
  • Available to commit to regular shifts around your lifestyle
