Job Description

Materials Science Manager-Product Innovation/R & D

Oxfordshire-Commutable from Abingdon, Harwell, Newbury, Oxford, Wantage, Didcot

Generous Salary plus flexitime, bonus, Pension (matched up to 7.5%), Private Medical, 25 days holiday

Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday (Flexitime-core hours 9.30AM-3.30PM)

Are you an experienced manager from a materials science/laboratory R & D background looking for a very interesting and unique role with a thriving global business within the materials industry?

The role offers a degree of flexible working and an excellent salary.

More importantly this position offers a fascinating, innovative working environment and very varied work, in a large research and development/new product development environment.

This key role is with a global leader in their market and are investing heavily in both staff and equipment.

The role focuses on leading a team within a analytical laboratory environment including testing materials.

Tasks will include:

Line management of the small Materials Characterisation team and budget responsibility
Overall responsibility for the analytical labs and the acid lab.
Manage lab supplies, equipment repairs, and maintenance as appropriate and set up preventative maintenance schedules.

To apply you should have

Degree in materials science, chemistry, or related discipline
Demonstrated leadership skills
Knowledge of materials characterisation methods.
Experience of managing safe laboratory practices involving acids
