Finegreen are proud to be partnering with a leading provider of specialist care and rehabilitation services who are seeking to appoint a Clinical Lead Nurse/Matron for their rehabilitation unit based in the North West.
My client provides care and rehabilitation for patients with acute and long-term neurological conditions within a state of the art rehabilitation unit. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation which has recently been on an improvement journey.
The Clinical Lead Nurse will have overall responsibility for the management of Nursing/Allied staff and the management of nursing/therapy resources/budgets within the Unit. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within the unit and ensure the principles of clinical governance and quality improvement are implemented, maintained and monitored at a local level.
The post holder will provide strong leadership through a visible presence and provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. The post holder will also support patients’ carers and external stakeholders, being a focal point for advice to patients and carers and local resolution of complaints. You will overall accountability within the unit for the monitoring, review, improvement and provision of evidence and assurance relating to patient care.
You will ensure that the nursing and support staff are managed and developed in order to enable them to deliver the highest standards of patient care and service. The ideal candidate will support the Hospital Manager in the development of the hospital strategy for service development and deputise for the Hospital Manager as and when required. The Clinical Lead Nurse will also participate in the Senior Manager on call rota.
Responsibility for Patient Care, Safety and Clinical Quality;
Accountable for ensuring the appropriate and effective development, delivery and monitoring of patient care and treatment;
Responsible for providing senior nursing advice within the unit, as required;
Where possible, takes all reasonable action to address problems, concerns and complaints as near to ‘source’ as possible, but also understands when to escalate;
Supports Senior Nurses/Nurses to ensure the most appropriate distribution of staffing resources in order to balance risks and to ensure the safe and smooth running of the unit;
Lead on embedding action plans/learning arising from adverse events, IIRs/SUIs, never events, complaints in close liaison with the clinical governance and quality department;
Participates in clinical audit and promotes/identifies research activity/opportunities;
Development of audits and analysis of working practices and trends to support improvements in performance in relation to quality and patient experience.
The successful candidate will have:
Strong leadership and operational management;
Mentorship course/Leadership course;
Previous experience of working in either an acute or mental health organisation;
Proven track record in clinical governance and CQC inspections;
Up-to-date knowledge of acute and long term conditions;
Recent experience of delivering nursing care in a clinical environment;
Understanding and application of relevant legislation in relation to the role;
Awareness and understanding of the CQC and RQIA National Care Standards.
My client offers a salary of £40,558 - £47,088 per annum (dependent on experience) with a competitive benefits package.
