Vitaflo (International) Ltd currently have 3 Medical Food Production Technician positions available to work at its global head offices just outside of Liverpool city centre on 6-month fixed term contracts. The role involves working 32 hours per week over 4 days between Monday and Friday within the on-site production plant. Your role will be to ensure production of Glycosade to the defined standards and specification, and to ensure all orders are fulfilled.

Glycosade is a unique food for special medical purposes, consumed by children and adults and is used in the dietary management of Glycogen Storage Disease. This specialist powder product is manufactured at our HQ in Liverpool.

Key responsibilities of our Medical Food Production Technician:

- Ensuring the output requirements of the production plant are met on a weekly basis

- Comply with and maintain the required hygiene standards and participate in programs and procedures required

- Maintaining accurate batch traceability records and any other records required for the Glycosade operation

- Participation in projects that help improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs

- Participation in plant maintenance programs to coordinate maintenance and repair work in the process area 

- Ensure that HACCP and Food Safety standards are maintained

- Replenish PPE/Chemicals/Consumables to ensure production area is always equipped

- Comply with and maintain the required hygiene standards

Skills and Experience required by our Medical Food Production Technician:

- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English

- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice 

- Qualification in Food Hygiene is preferred (Food Safety Level 2 or above)

- Diligent attention to health and safety

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to work independently and within a team

- Have a positive, can-do attitude

- Takes pride in their work 

- A keen eye for detail to spot opportunities for improvement

- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment 

- Flexible, dependable and reliable
