Mental Health Ambulance Care Assistants Roles for our site at NW10 Shifts - 4 on 4 off Pay - £11.00 hour Becoming a Mental Health Ambulance Care Assistant is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Ambulance Care Assistants who enjoy engaging with patients and dealing with challenging situations in a calm and proactive manner. You will need to be able to carry out dynamic risk assessments, make decisions on your own and work on your own initiative. Mental Health Ambulance Care Assistants provide appropriate and safe care in a variety of settings for patients travelling with HATS, both in and out of hospital clinics & care facilities. You will be expected to transport PTS patients in non-emergency situations and deal with patients across a wide range of groups and sometimes in difficult settings. You will also be required to assist other ambulance crews or operations when needed. Your role will involve dealing with a wide variety of patients in a variety of settings presenting with a wide range of medical, physical, behavioural and mental health conditions who can present you with a wide range of challenges to deal with safely. A calm and focused manner is essential when dealing with confused, distressed, emotional and provocative patients. Your excellent communication skills and the training you receive will ensure that you are able to diffuse escalating situations
