Job Description

We are looking for Band 5 Mental Health Nurses (RMN) for a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist Mental Health service based in Norwich, within an NHS Acute ward.

Temporary pay rate:
•Days: £18ph
•Nights & Saturdays: £22ph
•Sundays & Bank Holidays: £26ph

Hours and length of contract:
•Full time 37.5 hours
•The wards operate 24/7 and rotation onto night shifts is required (flexibility to discuss)
• Shift times are:
oEarly: 06:30 to 14:30
oLate: 13:15 to 21:15
oNight: 20:30 to 07:00
oLong days available, including night work
•Initial 3 month contract (with likelihood of extension)
•The manager requires the position to be filled ASAP

Daily Duties:
The service is a 20 bed acute admission ward caring for both males and females experiencing acute mental health problems.

They provide assessment and treatment services for acute mental disorders and rehabilitation including:
•Depression
•Bipolar affective disorder
•Schizophrenia
•Acute anxiety
•Significant thoughts of self-harm
•Suicidal thoughts
•Feeling unsafe

You will undertake the planning and delivery of direct patient care with minimal supervision, ensuring continuity of practice and working within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.

You will also manage a caseload and the provision of mental health care services to people with mental health care needs to identify the most appropriate treatment and recovery plans and support service users through their journey to return back to the community.

Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, team working skills are essential.

Person specification:
The applicant must be DBS cleared and have previous experience in the field.
