Job Description

Are you a Mental Health Nurse looking for a new opportunity outside of the NHS to progress and develop your career? Are you comfortable working autonomously and supervising a small team of health care assistants? We are currently looking for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to work in the Gateshead locality and work with young Adults and Adolescents with Mental Health needs aged 16-24.

As a Mental Health Practitioner you will be responsible for managing a case load of 16-24 year olds with complex or multiple mental health needs including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, personality disorders and bipolar disorder. The role involves coaching and mentoring support workers to ensure they are providing excellent clinical care. It is essential to have experience working with adolescents and young adults for this role.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team of Occupational therapists, Nurses, support workers and a Non-clinical Manager who is on site daily 9am-5pm. The team is highly established and has a low turnover of staff; the team recently won 'team of the year' at the Home Group awards.
Working pattern is 09.00-17.00 Monday-Friday.

As a Mental health Practitioner you will be responsible for:

- Care planning
- Care Coordinating
- Supervising and mentoring support staff
- Administering medication when required- Providing therapeutic intervention

To be successful in this role you must have:

- Valid NMC PIN
- Experience with Young people
- Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification
- Excellent written and verbal communication
